    Maserati Car Guide

    MASERATIOverview

When it comes to Italian sports cars, few names are more well known than Maserati. In fact, it has made a name for selling exotic luxury vehicles at lower prices than comparable cars from other manufacturers. Since 1914, Maserati has crafted some of the best race cars and domestic vehicles that the auto industry has ever seen.

    NOTEWORTHY FEATURES

    Variety of Models

While Maserati is best known for making sports cars, the manufacturer offers a wide range of vehicle types and models, including the Quattroporte, Ghibli, and Levante. This variety ensures that Maserati has a little something for everyone. This includes those looking for a high-end family car or an SUV with the power to haul large loads.

    Power and Performance

If there is one area in which Maserati doesn't skimp, it's power and performance. Take the 2019 Maserati Ghibli for example: This car features a powerful twin-turbo and a V-6 engine that is capable of producing 345 horsepower. Also, there is an S model with an engine that produces 424 horsepower, resulting in an acceleration speed from zero to 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds.

    Attention to Detail

One of the perks of owning a Maserati is the attention to detail that the manufacturer has. For example, the Maserati Quattroporte features hand-stitched seats. Even the rear seats offer many amenities that you would only expect to see in the front seats this includes the ability to adjust the seats and airflow.

    ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS

    Price and Affordability

Maserati is known for producing high-end luxury cars that tend to have lower price tags than similar luxury vehicle manufacturers, such as Ferrari. However, the prices are still pretty steep. New, most Maserati vehicles can easily set you back $70,000 to $150,000, with the used vehicle prices going for $50,000 or more.

    Fuel Efficiency

Because of the focus on power in many Maserati vehicles, it's unfortunate that fuel efficiency isn't their strong suit. Compared to other luxury, high-end vehicles, the estimated fuel mileage is on the low side (the 2019 Maserati Ghibli, for example, gets 16 mpg city and only 24 mpg highway). While other vehicles have even lower estimates, it's still something to consider before you spend this much money on a luxury vehicle.

    Better Options for the Money

When you buy a Maserati, you pay for the brand name. While the manufacturer makes fantastic cars, you can typically get just as nice of a car for less money for that reason, the Maserati Ghibli made the Forbes list of new cars to avoid in 2018. There's nothing inherently wrong with the car, but the high price tag makes it a less desirable option compared to similar midsize luxury cars.
