The overall experience with carvana was good. Easy to look at and browse vehicles. Carfax reports, damage on pics etc... I did however have a few issues. My biggest being with the registration team. I am active duty military living in North Carolina and a home of record in Washington State. When I asked to register my car in washington, which i have done for the past 12 years of being in the military and living in michigan, oregon, alabama etc.., i was told that they couldnt do it. They said i needed to provide a utlity bill proving i lived in washington which obviously doesnt make sense because i live in north carolina. I told them that in the past when dealing with the DMV i send a pic of my military ID, my active duty orders showing where i am stationed and the paperwork stating that Washington State is my home of record. The carvana registration team said nope. We need a current utlility bill proving residence. So i had to register it through North Carolina and now next year will have to register it myself through washington. Second thing with the registration team was my ID. I had an expired Drivers License that is still legal to use and have as long as i am actuve duty. Again, the carvana team said they could not accept this or finish my purchase with this. They told me i had to go get a North Carolina ID to finish the purchase. I dont know the "carvana" rules but i do know state law and my id is 100% legal with my military ID. So then i had to go to the local DMV, waste 2.5 hours of my life and 45 bucks on something i didnt need. Once my first mini van was finally delivered i told the driver about what had happened and she, a veteran, told me that the company is expanding so fast that a lot of the people arent getting the proper training they need, especially when it comes to military folks and the non standard paperwork with out of state registration and such. My advice would be that there should be sufficient training when it comes to active duty military paperwork in regards to home of record registration and such. Other than that my overall experience was good. There were some other things i could talk about but feel ive rambled on too much already so ill just leave whoever reads this with that.
