    The 2019 version of the Ford F-150 has much to offer in terms of functional features and luxury trimmings. The Ford F-150 Lariat is the most famous of the regular cabin Ford trucks. Equipped with a fuel-efficient engine and great interior configuration, this truck is designed to offer you the much-required hauling and towing power you may need.

    NOTEWORTHY FEATURES

    Durability and Toughness

    The Ford F-150 truck is specifically built for outdoor toughness. The high-strength, military-grade aluminum body and bed allow you to carry large weights safely with no problems. The entire body structure has the optimum power-to-weight ratio to allow maximum payload ratings and resistance to dent damages. For extreme off-roading activities, the F-150 offers highly durable FOX Live valve monotube shocks that are designed to offer superior control and optimal off-road experiences. They supplement the rear heavy-duty leaf springs, which have a capacity of 2,500 pounds.

    Power and Handling

    With the truck designed to haul heavy loads, the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine offers a horsepower rating of 325 with an accompanying torque rating of 400 pound-feet. The 23-gallon fuel tank provides the necessary diesel engine fuel for an extended range of mobility without having to worry about refueling. When it comes to handling, the Ford F-150 has standard 18-inch aluminum wheels and 265/60 R18 BSW All-Season tires for optimal traction and ground clearance.

    Interior Comfort and Convenience

    The Ford F-150's interior is custom-made for great convenience and comfort. The 8-inch productivity screen projects vital system information, including fuel economy and towing data. It also comes equipped with a 360-degree camera with a split-view display that gives you a bird's-eye-view display of the truck for safe navigation in tight spaces.

    ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS

    Road Traction

    The F-150 is built as a workhorse. The truck, therefore, works best under medium or heavy load haulage conditions. When empty, it can feel too light and unbalanced to drive in off-road conditions. To get the best of this truck, you need to master how to handle it, both when empty and when carrying loads.

    Fuel Efficiency

    The F-150 has quite low fuel efficiency. The diesel engine has been vetted to do about 19 miles per gallon within urban conditions and 25 miles per gallon when driving on the highway. When in off-road conditions, the fuel efficiency declines much further, with the truck barely capable of doing 17 miles per gallon under the off-roading four-wheel drive trim.

    Driver-Assist Features

    Although the F-150 has done a commendable job in availing basic driver-assist features, some of them are a bit naive. For example, on the highway, the lane-keep assist and the anti-collision systems are quite abrupt in decision making. They implement instantaneous decisions, such as braking and accelerating. This may be surprising to drivers who are not used to such abrupt driving experiences. The driver-assist options, however, can be switched off and overruled to minimize such inconveniences.
