I was looking for a unicorn: a heavy duty truck with a very specific engine and gear ratio. Carvana's site is the only one that gives me enough info to find such a truck, and instant pre-approval. I closed the deal as soon as I found what I wanted. Two hiccups, though (and I'm nitpicking, because everything else was great): first, transport was delayed by 10 extra days, so my excitement about getting the truck was a bit tempered; I was able to maintain it because I had double-checked and was promised that yes, I'd get to do the silly coin in the vending machine. But, second, when pickup day arrived, this didn't happen. It was explained to me that the truck was too big to fit, and anyway their machine had been broken for a week. I was really glad the three friends who had planned to go with me just to see this and take pics had to cancel. This is not a huge deal to me, but it bugged me that I had chatted with them to make sure and it fell through. It did make the pickup a ten minute process, though. So my advice is lower your expectations about their "vending machine" gimmick. The rest of their business model is spot on.
