Overview2016 NISSAN ROGUE
The Rogue was Nissan's entry into the compact crossover SUV market and was well-received by buyers. For its second generation in the 2016 model year, the Rogue became available in three different trims, and the most loaded model was not much more expensive than the base model. According to new car sales figures, the 2016 Rogue was the 10th most popular car in the US that year, with just under 300,000 new vehicles sold. Read on to learn more about the used 2016 Nissan Rogue.
Cargo SpaceFor a compact SUV, the Rogue delivers an impressive amount of cargo space. There are over 39 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats. With these seats folded, the cargo capacity grows even more, allowing the Rogue to hold up to 22 carry-ons. With all of the space, it is a solid choice for a family road trip.
Cabin ComfortThe Rogue can fit five passengers comfortably given the roomy interior. The front seat offers ample legroom for the driver, and there is almost 38 inches of legroom in the rear seat. This vehicle's seats are roomy, upscale, and comfortable, easily fitting a family of four or five.
Third-Row SeatingThe 2016 Rogue is one of the few compact SUVs that offer optional third-row seating. While this third row is small, and there is generally only room for small children, it makes this compact SUV suitable to being a true family car.
Fuel EconomyWhen it comes to the costs of keeping the vehicle fueled, the Rogue is not as light on your wallet as others in the class. Although more recent models of the Rogue report getting a combined 29 miles per gallon, when the vehicle is actually tested on the highways, the fuel efficiency is somewhat less than advertised. The real-world fuel efficiency is sometimes as low as 22 miles per gallon.
Engine PowerOn the surface, the Rogue has ample engine power with 170 horsepower. However, the power is not distributed efficiently, and the car does not respond with alacrity when you give it some gas. As a result, the engine can be sluggish when you try to accelerate. The combination of the modest engine and the uneven transmission means that the Rogue lacks some necessary kick, although the ride is reported to be smooth and uneventful.
Infotainment SystemWhile the Rogue certainly has its share of infotainment options, the system does not always operate in an intuitive manner and may be difficult to use at times. The buttons on the screen are not always prominent, and drivers might have some difficulty spotting these controls at night. The Rogue does come with a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
