OverviewLexus IS 250

If you're looking for an entry-level luxury sedan with a sporty disposition, consider the compact Lexus IS 250. Although modestly powered for a premium-brand sport sedan, the IS 250 offered all the virtues of the Lexus badge like a high-quality interior and high-tech features along with precise steering and nimble handling. Discover the ins and outs on used Lexus IS 250s, available now in Carvana's inventory.

Smooth Ride

Seeking a smooth, comfortable ride on the open road? You'll be hard pressed to do better than the Lexus IS 250, which prides itself on offering a buttery smooth ride for its passengers. Furthermore, wind and road noise is significantly reduced thanks to the use of sound deadening materials.

Upscale Interior Design, Quality

It's no surprise that the Lexus IS 250 would be a stand out in the luxury sedan class. The Lexus name alone suggests quality, though it's only reinforced once you climb inside the IS 250. With an interior that is as nice as you'll find in the segment, supple leather, attractive wood, and brilliant metallic accents highlight the IS 250's cabin area.

Excellent Steering

Not only does the Lexus IS 250 look and feel like a luxury vehicle, but it drives like one, too. On curving, winding roads, the IS 250 is remarkably responsive and precise, making the experience for the person behind the wheel one to remember.

For as smooth and enjoyable as the IS 250 is to drive and ride in, it does lack the overall athleticism found in other rivals in its class. Compared to competitors in its segment, the IS 250 lacks the grippiness and playfulness in its overall handling.

Power And Fuel Economy

One of the major hangups with the IS 250 is the presence of its 2.5-liter V6 engine, which produces 204 horsepower. For comparison sake, the IS 350's more modern 3.5-liter V6 engine produces roughly 100 more horses. Moreover, the IS 250's fuel economy also leaves something to be desired, as the EPA estimates it gets 24 mpg combined (21 mpg city/30 mpg highway) with rear-wheel drive and 23 mpg combined (20 mpg city/27 mpg highway) with all-wheel drive.

Infotainment Interface

While the IS 250's Remote Touch controller may be a good idea in principle, the overall execution falls short. The controller and on-screen cursor operate like your standard mouse and cursor concept on a computer, but placing the cursor can be tricky, and if you've incorrectly clicked somewhere, there's no obvious back button. The screen's icons are all also the same color, which makes differentiating between them without averting your gaze from the road very challenging.
