Overview2016 INFINITI QX60

The QX60 is the second highest-selling vehicle in the Infiniti lineup of cars. In 2016, the QX60 received a refreshed design from the manufacturer; Infiniti added a new steering rack and changed the chassis for a more sportier ride. LED exterior lighting, xenon headlights, and a redesigned grille are all new upgrades for the exterior. The QX60 features new engine mounts and acoustic side glass for a quieter ride on the road. With the new model, Infiniti has created a high-performance vehicle in an SUV body.

Various Models

The 2016 Infiniti QX60 is offered with a gasoline engine or a gas-electric hybrid system. This seven-passenger SUV comes in a single trim level in either all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive. For both models, the standard features include 18-inch wheels, heated side mirrors, a power liftgate, keyless entry, and leather upholstery.

Upgraded Interior

The 2016 QX60 received an upgrade in its interior. Contrast stitching is featured on the dash area and the seating, including the second row. The 2016 QX60 offers second-row heated seats as an option for all model classes. It also includes a second-row split seat that can slide forward and tilt up for easier third-row access. With this style of seating, it is easier to have a child seat in the second row and still have access to the third row.

Improved Safety Features

With the 2016 QX60, every model includes anti-lock disc brakes, front seat-mounted side air bags, a rearview camera, full-length side air bags, and traction control. The Infiniti Connection is an additional safety option, and it features stolen vehicle location sensors, speed notifications, remote door unlocking, and automatic collision notification. Adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, rear parking sensors, and a blind-spot warning system are also available as upgrade options for this vehicle.

Lower Gas Mileage

The EPA estimates that the QX60 can get 26 mpg combined for the front-wheel-drive model and 22 combined mpg for the all-wheel-drive version. However, Edmunds found that the QX60 struggled to reach those numbers in their real-world driving tests.

Increased Engine Noise

The 268-horsepower 3.5-liter V-6 engine can power the all-wheel-drive version to 60 mph in 7.8 seconds. However, the engine makes some noise under full throttle. With the continuously variable transmission (CVT), the sound is elevated throughout the cabin. For those wanting a quiet ride, the 250-horsepower four-cylinder hybrid powertrain is available, but it is not as popular as other engine options.

Sluggish Turns

There is no doubt that the QX60 is a large vehicle. With its engine, there are times when the SUV feels sluggish as it passes other vehicles on the highway. If you compare other models in its class, the QX60 is noticeably slower than the competition. Depending on your priorities, this three-row SUV might not meet your performance expectations.
