Overview2016 INFINITI Q50

The 2016 Infiniti Q50 is a four-door midsize luxury sport sedan with seating for five. It comes in six different trims, which include the 2.0T, 2.0T Premium, 3.0T Premium, Sport, Red Sport 400 and Hybrid Premium. You can get the Infiniti sedan with all-wheel drive, and the carmaker equipped the vehicle with high-end and useful standard features. For the 2016 Q50, Infiniti gave the vehicle a new suspension, and there are updated steering choices including a completely electronic option. For a luxury sedan, this vehicle model is surprisingly affordable.

Copious Amount of High-Tech Gear

Infiniti went all out when it decided to equip the Q50, including the base model. The vehicle comes with features like hill-start assist, vented disc brakes and LED headlights. It is also outfitted with eight-way, power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone climate control and Bluetooth that comes with hands-free text messaging.

A Spacious Trunk

The 2016 Infiniti Q50 features a spacious trunk that measures 13.5 cubic feet, which is a good size in the midsize luxury sedan category. There's plenty of room inside the cabin of the Q50 as well. The back seats are spacious enough for taller adults to feel comfortable even in the areas of headroom and legroom.

Nice Interior

The Q50's interior includes quality materials, and it also comes with features like the InTouch infotainment system, voice controls, and a satellite radio. Keyless ignition and entry is included in the sedan as is a six-speaker audio system and two USB ports. Upgraded items like leather upholstery, a 14-speaker Bose surround-sound audio system, and heated front seats are available, too.

The Infotainment System is Complex

The dashboard is dominated by two main touchscreens, and these manage most of the vehicle's systems. These two displays have different coatings to differentiate them, and while the vehicle's infotainment system does a lot, you will need to take some time learning which screen operates which function. Once you get used to it, you're sure to appreciate its many features.

Hybrid Needs Improvement

One area where the hybrid suffers is in trunk space since the battery decreases the trunk space by 9.4 cubic feet. Along with this decrease, the hybrid's drivetrain is susceptible to unsettling due to unpredictable lurches and slips. The hybrid also exhibits a lack of stability and smoothness, resulting in a decrease of the vehicle's overall ride quality.

Sensitive Safety Systems

The safety features that come with the Q50 include antilock brakes, a rear-view camera and stability and traction control. It also has automatic collision notification, remote door unlocking, and vented disc brakes. The vehicle's sensitive safety systems include its Intelligent Cruise Control and Direct Adaptive Steering that comes with lane-departure prevention and active trace-control cornering safety system. These might take control more than you'd like.
