Get the best online car shopping experience with expert reviews of the 2015 Honda Cr-v. Read more to learn about the most important features and important factors to consider when researching the 2015 Honda Cr-v.
Overview2015 HONDA CR-V
The 2015 Honda CR-V has seen some upgrades from previous years, featuring the addition of the continuously variable transmission (CVT) and switching over to the Honda Accord's version of the direct-injected four-cylinder engine. The 2015 CR-V ranks as one of the best compact SUV options on the market. This is due in part to its improved fuel economy, new features, and all-around functionality.
Safety TechnologyAntilock brakes, stability control, traction control, front side airbags, side curtain airbags, and a rearview camera all come standard in the 2015 model. Select models also come equipped with a LaneWatch blind spot monitoring system, lane departure warning system, and automatic braking intervention. The 2015 CR-V excelled in government crash tests, earning four stars for frontal crash protection and five stars for side crash protection. The 2015 CR-V improved from previous years by stopping in 119 feet from 60 mph though it still falls a few feet shorter than similar vehicles.
Smooth Control & DrivingThe 2015 Honda CR-V offers some sportier additions including an upgraded suspension and wider wheels. Although the CR-V isn't necessarily your best bet for off-road traveling, the vehicle provides an overall smooth ride, gliding over bumps with ease. Designers have continued to improve the CR-V's insulation, offering reduced noise in the cabin, an issue drivers have complained about on previous models of the CR-V. Overall, the 2015 CR-V offers the perfect combination of comfort and functionality, making this a great family vehicle that is stellar for daily travel and transportation.
Cargo SpaceAlong with offering ample seating and leg space for rear passengers, the 2015 CR-V also provides a substantial amount of cargo space. Behind the rear seats alone, the CR-V boasts a total of 35.2 cubic feet of cargo space. Lower the spring-loaded rear seats down, however, and overall cargo capacity is increased to a whopping 70.9 cubic feet of space.
Touchscreen ControlsWhile the 2015 CR-V has attempted to modernize its interior with a front dash that features a built-in touchscreen display, the features fall short in actuality. Most screen controls are laid out functionally, but the touchscreen's menu and button structure can become rather confusing and are not always responsive in a timely manner. Volume and tuning knobs are left out of the vehicle's design as well.
Engine OptionsAlthough the 2015 CR-V features a newly upgraded four-cylinder engine, speed and acceleration are not one of this vehicle's premier qualities. If you are looking for a well-rounded compact crossover SUV with ample storage space and utility, the CR-V is one of your best bets. If acceleration is important to you, consider looking into similar compact SUVs that boast a V6 engine.
InteriorHonda designers have attempted to spruce up the 2015 CR-V's interior with decorative soft-touch dashboard inserts. Much of the plastic inserts and design have stuck around from previous CR-V models, however.
