Overview2016 CHRYSLER 300

The Chrysler 300 shatters the notion that Detroit had lost its way when it comes to performance sedans. Chrysler introduced the 300 in 2005 and it has become one of the top-selling American sedans in the years since as drivers appreciate the engine power and the smooth quality of the ride. When it comes to the 2016 Chrysler 300, buyers have a choice of multiple different engine options depending on how much power they want.

The Engine

The powerful engine is one of the main reasons why buyers covet the 2016 Chrysler 300. Models come standard with a formidable V6 and there is a V8 Hemi option available. The base model puts out 292 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, giving drivers a feeling of power and control behind the wheel.

Smooth Ride

The 300's suspension allows for a quiet ride that can take road bumps in stride. This large car remains planted in place even on the roughest of roads. As one of the bigger sedans out there, the 300's sturdiness allows it to cruise while the handling keeps the ride anchored on twists and turns. All-wheel drive, which is available on many 2016 trims, enables the 300 to handle tough surfaces and conditions.

Infotainment System

The car is equipped with an intuitive and easy-to-use system that allows drivers to proceed safely down the road while operating the infotainment options. The 300's infotainment system can respond to texts while driving. The 8.4-inch screen has buttons that are not difficult to find, and the Uconnect system also has a Wi-Fi hotspot. Apple Car Play is not available on earlier models of the 300.

The 300 has a small rear window that reduced visibility for the driver. The 2016 Chrysler 300 also has a high beltline and thick rear pillar that contribute to lesser visibility for the driver. There are larger side mirrors that mitigate the problem somewhat and the rear backup camera helps in this regard, but a full sightline is difficult.

Fuel Economy

If a lower gasoline bill is important to you, the 2016 Chrysler 300 may not satisfy. The 300 gets one of the lowest fuel mileages in the class with under 20 combined miles per gallon. The V-8 does take less fuel when the car is doing things such as rolling down a hill or cruising down a highway. This takes away some of the sting of a higher fuel bill.

Interior Seating

The 300 is a large sedan, but much of the interior room is concentrated in the front seat. The rear seat is not as comfortable for passengers as it is in other competitors in the class. The front seat is a little short on side support, making it less comfortable for the driver and passenger.
