    Plenty Of Tech And Safety Features

    Perhaps headlining the list of impressive tech and safety features that come on the Buick Encore is the 4G LTE connection with WiFi hotspot capability. This is a game changer for passengers that need to get work done while on the road or those looking to surf the web when traveling between Point A and Point B. Additionally, the Encore comes with forward collision and lane-departure warnings to help avoid accidents.

    Quiet Interior

    Who doesn’t like a little peace and quiet from their vehicle? The Encore does just that, as it is constructed with a number of sound-deadening materials, including an active noise-cancelling system, providing the vehicle’s passengers with a serene experience on the open road.

    Fuel Economy

    Small even by compact crossover standards, the Encore reflects its lack of excess in its fuel economy offerings. Per EPA estimates, the Encore gets 28 mpg combined (25 mpg city/33 mpg highway) with front-wheel drive and 26 mpg combined (23 mpg city/30 mpg highway) with all-wheel drive.

    ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS

    Interior Room

    Though economical, the Encore isn’t the best representative of the Buick brand in terms of space and comfort for its passengers. The back seat, in particular, offers limited space for passengers and can be a tricky issue to deal with for people who plan on placing children in rear-facing child seats.

    Cargo Space

    While the Encore does offer more cargo capacity compared to rivals like the MINI Countryman or Nissan Juke, with 18.8 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats and 48.4 cubic feet with the seats folded, it still doesn’t stack up to class competitors. For comparison, the Ford Escape offers a total of 68 cubic feet, which is average for the large crossover segment.

    Performance Attributes

    In particular, the Encore’s handling ability leaves something to be desired for those looking for a little more out of their everyday commuter. Additionally, the Encore’s turbocharged 1.4-liter engine lacks pep when accelerating to merge with traffic or when attempting to pass slower freeway drivers.
