Lincoln MKX Guide
Get the best online car shopping experience with expert reviews of the Lincoln MKX. Read more to learn about the most important features and important factors to consider when researching the Lincoln MKX.
The Lincoln MKX offers contemporary styling and a modern interior that moves the brand forward from its previous retro-obsessed past. Its lack of a third row seat makes it a little less family-friendly than some other sport-utilities in its segment, but its single-row backseat is nevertheless quite spacious. Earlier MKXs came up short in terms of power and refinement, but the latest MKX boasts a strong 3.7-liter V6 engine and a cabin that can actually hold its own with other luxury brands in terms of both quality and design. Discover the ins and outs on used Lincoln MKXs, available now in Carvana's inventory.
Quiet Interior, Spacious SeatingArguably one of the most notable traits on the Lincoln MKX is how hushed the ride is. In particular, the 2016 MKX model has improved sound insulation and an active noise-cancellation system, allowing passengers a serene driving experience. Adding to this comfortable setting is a well-appointed cabin area that has no shortage of soft-touch materials and rear seating that can easily accommodate three adults. Did we mention that those rear seats also recline. Prepare to be pampered with the MKX.
Strong Turbocharged V6 Engine AvailableWhile the MKX comes standard with a 3.7-liter V6 engine, it's the optional turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 that's getting all the attention. Capable of churning out 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque, the turbocharged powertrain offers better acceleration and slightly better fuel economy.
Plenty Of FeaturesThe MKX isn't exactly a bargain vehicle, but for the price you can expect to pay, you will be treated to a number of great features. A plethora of convenience and luxury items are available on the base MKX's base model, including leather upholstery, driver memory functions, and active noise cancellation. Higher MKX trims include exclusive features like 22-way front seats and the 19-speaker Revel Ultima sound system.
Rearward VisibilityFor all the comforts that the MKX provides, visibility out of vehicle's rear can be a pain in the rear. Due to the MKX's thick roof pillars and a small rear window, rearward visibility is notably impaired for the driver.
Cabin AreaIt's a little nit picky to include this as a con for the MKX, but the cabin doesn't have the out and out luxury feel compared to other vehicles in its segment. Chiefly, the transmission shifter controls and the plastics that comprise the vehicle's center stack look and feel cheaply made.
Infotainment InterfaceAnother drawback with the MKX is the clunky MyLincoln Touch interface. On appearance alone, MyLincoln Touch looks like a winner with its sharp looking touchscreen and comprehensive voice-control system. However, in practice, the interface can be frustrating to use due to its lack of intuition and slow response to touch inputs.
