So my review is really two fold. The actual buying and selling process with Carvana was excellent. Extremely easy, stress free way of shopping. My husband first used Carvana a few months ago which is why I decided to try it for my purchase. They streamline everything for you and make the entire process as simple as possible. I give that 5 stars
My problem really is with the 3rd Party Authorized dealership partners. Carvana claims we are getting the same type of approved vehicle that you would get from them when using this 3rd party vendor. Cars are put under the same scrutiny and rigorous inspections. My car had zero items pointed out on the website. Not a single scrape or dent. Now, I'm not trying to say the car should be flawless but when it arrived there was a sizable (over 8 inches) gash on the front bumper. Carvana pointed it out to me during the inspection and is covering the cost l, but I had to jump through the hoops of taking it out for an estimate, taking it back for the appointment, being without the car for 3 days and juggling one car with my husband and kids, work etc.
I had the car washed once and now I'm seeing that the back bumper also has major scratches, almost like the car had been completely keyed on each side which I am paying to remedy out of pocket…that's an extra $400 I wasn't anticipating spending. Again, these aren't small marks-these are very sizable scratches that should've been noted from the dealership.
And on top of it, my RPM/MPH dashboard lights just went out. I have had the car for 30ish days. So now, after I pick it up from the body shop for the repairs to the exterior, I get to take it in to a dealership to get the electrical working correctly. Time is valuable and all of this running around for a car I just purchased makes me realize that if the car price is too good to be true, it likely is. I won't buy from Carvana again if the car is with an authorized 3rd party dealer. I would advise anyone shopping to make sure everything is circled and noted in the pictures and description.
