Jeep Cherokee
Since its 1970s introduction, the Jeep Cherokee has built a loyal following among off-road enthusiasts and suburban families alike. This versatile SUV offers a mix of practicality and ruggedness, with a comfortable interior and commendable trail-tackling abilities thanks to its available four-wheel drive systems. On the downside, some Cherokee owners have reported reliability concerns, particularly in earlier models, as well as a less refined on-road experience compared to rivals. But overall, the Cherokee remains an appealing option for those who desire a blend of outdoor spirit and everyday functionality.

Jeep Cherokee Model Lineup
The Cherokee is a compact SUV with seating for up to five passengers. In Jeep's lineup, it sits between the smaller Compass and the larger Grand Cherokee. The current generation, launched in 2014, received a facelift in 2019 that refreshed its exterior styling, updated its interior, and added new features.
Jeep offers the Cherokee in several trims, including the Latitude, Latitude Plus, Limited, Trailhawk, and Overland. The Trailhawk is the most off-road-focused trim with increased ground clearance, skid plates, and a locking rear differential. The Overland represents the most luxurious trim, offering high-quality interior materials and advanced technology features.
Since 2014, the Cherokee has offered a standard 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 184 horsepower and an optional 3.2-liter V6 with 271 hp. Both pair with a nine-speed automatic transmission. In 2019, Jeep also added an optional 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 270 hp. Front-wheel drive is standard and four-wheel drive optional on most versions.
The Cherokee offers Jeep’s Uconnect infotainment system with screen sizes ranging from 7 to 8.4 inches, depending on the trim. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration has been available since 2018 and is standard on most trims. Advanced safety features such as adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and automatic emergency braking have been available since 2014, with some becoming standard on higher trims in later years.
Used car buyers interested in a Jeep Cherokee should consider 2019 and newer models, as these offer updated styling, improved interior quality, and additional powertrain options. The Trailhawk trim is recommended for those who prioritize off-road capabilities, while the Overland trim offers more luxury and technology features.

2014 Jeep Cherokee Latitude - FWD
Seat adjusts should be electric instead of the handle/lever like they were with the Liberty. For the price I paid and when I compare it to my Liberty, the Cherokee should have power seats to raise/lower and to move forward/back. Also for the price, seats should have been leather or similar material. This almost turned me away, and I'm still not 100% satisfied because of this.

Had I known about the diesel offering for the Grand Cherokee, I probably would have bought that model. Just didn't realize till after the fact

Every time my wife and I get in the car we remark as to how fortunate we are to have our new Jeep Grand Cherokee. We are very impressed with our new Grand Cherokee. It is a superior product in terms of performance and luxury. It is a delight to drive and gives a strong sense of safety, power and stability.

2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk - 4WD
I was very worried about one thing when we purchased our new Jeep. We are still waiting to see what may happen but Chrysler products have always been known for their transmission issues. We hope after all these years that this issue may finally be resolved. Time will tell.

LOVE THE VEHICLE. However, we used Uconnect WiFi for the first time while traveling to vacation - we thought that using Pandora via wifi would allow us to conserve data on our cell phone plan. However, even though my phone was synced to the wifi connection, our data was still used in lieu of the wifi connection while using internet radio. We were not impressed with the wifi and will probably not use it again.

All vehicles at this price range should include remote trunk/hatch open. I miss this feature. Missing the auto trunk release on this vehicle and an easy place to put my purse

Only thing I do not like about my new car is the shifter... I do not like the electronic shifting.

2014 Jeep Cherokee Limited - 4WD
I wish that there was some way of getting the UConnect to work. I haven't been able to get this function to work since I bought the vehicle. The only thing that needs to be fixed is the UConnect on the Jeep brands as I have had problems with getting it to work and have not had any help with contacting them.

Would have expected daytime LED running lamps and better fog lamps
