Cadillac CTS-V

Few vehicles with four doors and daily driver practicality possess the kind of fire-breathing capabilities under the hood as the Cadillac CTS-V. Thanks to a modestly retuned engine borrowed from the Chevrolet Corvette, the CTS-V combines raw power with sophistication behind the wheel to deliver a thrilling yet luxurious ride. Lackluster fuel economy and underwhelming interior storage draw fair criticism, but in the end, the CTS-V blends performance and affordability better than most in its class.

Cadillac CTS-V Model Lineup

The CTS-V is a high-performance variant of the Cadillac CTS, a midsize luxury sedan. With seating for five, the CTS-V slots just above the compact ATS-V and below the full-size CT6-V in the American automaker's lineup of high-output models. The CTS-V was discontinued following the 2019 model year and replaced by the all-new CT5-V.

Cadillac offers the CTS-V in a single trim, which comes well equipped. Apple CarPlay, a wireless smartphone charger, and an 8.0-inch touchscreen came standard starting in 2016, while Android Auto integration arrived the following year (as a late addition for 2016). Advanced driver-assist and safety features including forward collision warning, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist also became standard for 2016. However, adaptive cruise control was never offered on the CTS-V.

A supercharged 6.2-liter V8 (556 hp, 551 lb-ft of torque) driving the rear wheels motivates the second-generation CTS-V (2009-2014). A six-speed manual transmission is standard, while a six-speed automatic is optional at no additional cost. With the launch of the third generation in 2016, the CTS-V’s 6.2-liter V8 engine was granted even more power, boosting output to 640 ponies and 630 lb-ft of torque. Though it remained rear-wheel drive, an eight-speed automatic transmission replaced the six-speed offerings from the generation before. No hybrid or electric variants were ever offered.

You can trust the safety features of this vehicle. I know from first hand experience. The ride and performance are very exceptional.

2016 Cadillac CTS Sedan (2.0T)

Don't do it. It has the back seat room of a Corolla, no storage space in the cockpit for such things as cell phone, a cup of coffee, or soft drink. The electronics seem counter intuitive, the location of some features is confusing and inconvenient. I only have 5,000 miles on this car and I am looking at trading already.

2016 Cadillac CTS Sedan (2.0T)

Nice style inside and out. Does not ride as smooth as what you would expect from Cadillac. The 2.0T has great power, but it noisy. More road noise than expected.

2016 Cadillac CTS Sedan (2.0T)

It is a very nice car, but it has limitations that my previous CTS did not. Overall, it is a decent car for the price and has many new and innovative features.

Drive it, don't judge it by the brand, if you just drive it you will buy it.
