Cadillac CT5
Though it may occupy a rung below its rivals from BMW and Mercedes-Benz, the Cadillac CT5 still brings lots of style, performance, and features to the fight within the midsize luxury sedan segment. In fact, in terms of technology, the CT5 offers one of the more innovative features in its class: Super Cruise, Cadillac’s semi-autonomous driving system. While a lack of interior storage space and a shortfall of top-notch luxury materials have given some pause, especially when considering its steep price tag, the CT5 remains a worthy choice for anyone seeking a standout American luxury car.

Cadillac CT5 Model Lineup
The CT5 is a midsize luxury sedan with seating for five. Since replacing the CTS in 2020, the CT5 is the largest sedan in Cadillac’s lineup, measuring roughly six inches longer than the compact CT4. The CT5-V Blackwing is a high-performance variant of the CT5, which is reviewed separately.
Cadillac offers the CT5 in four trims: the entry-level Premium (known as Luxury prior to 2021), the mid-tier Premium Luxury, the engaging Sport, and the performance-oriented V-Series (also known as CT5-V). Each trim level is packed with the latest in advanced tech and safety features. A 10-inch infotainment display is standard on all CT5 models, as is Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and forward collision mitigation. Cadillac’s semi-autonomous driving system, called Super Cruise, arrived as an optional feature in 2021 and uses GPS and high-resolution mapping to self-navigate the CT5 on select highways. Other advanced features, including blind-spot warning and lane-keeping assist, arrived standard for 2022 (and were previously optional), while adaptive cruise control has long been offered as an option.
Most trims in the CT5 lineup are powered by a standard 237-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, while a 335-hp twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 is optional on the Premium Luxury and Sport trims. The twin-turbo V6 comes standard on the V-Series, where it gets a boost to 360 hp. Each engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, and buyers have the choice between standard rear- and available all-wheel drive. No hybrid or electric variants are offered.

The CT5 is a sharp, comfortable mid-size vehicle; we really enjoy driving it. Our plan is to "upgrade" our next vehicle to obtain the full safety package, while also achieving increased mileage and perhaps, faster acceleration.

I love my car but I thought it had memory seats, which it does not. I thought I was getting lane assist, which it does not have.
