2025 Porsche Taycan: What's New, Specs & Features
Last updated August 4, 2026

The 2025 Porsche Taycan gets a major mid-cycle overhaul rather than a light update. The headline change is a reworked electric system that delivers more power, longer range, and faster charging.
About the 2025 Porsche Taycan
First Taycan generation, major 2025 overhaul/facelift that Porsche later referred to as the second Taycan generation.
Porsche positions the Taycan as an electric sports car first and a luxury EV second. The appeal is strong acceleration, sharp handling, fast 800-volt charging, and a low, driver-focused cockpit that feels much closer to a Porsche sports car than to a typical electric sedan. Compared with rivals, the Taycan’s main draw is that it aims to deliver a distinctly Porsche driving experience, not just big power numbers.
The base Taycan remains the simpler rear-wheel-drive model, while the Taycan 4 and 4S add all-wheel drive and stronger performance. The GTS brings sharper chassis tuning and up to 690 hp, while the Turbo and Turbo S combine very high output with richer equipment. At the top, the new 1,019-hp Turbo GT focuses on track performance, and its Weissach package replaces the rear seat with a lightweight shelf and adds more aggressive bodywork for airflow.
