1st generation (introduced for 2022), mid-cycle refresh year

Ford positions the Maverick as a right-sized pickup for everyday driving, home projects, recreation, and city use. Its main strengths are a compact footprint, gas and electrified powertrain configurations, a flexible cargo bed, and useful truck capability without the bulk of a traditional pickup. The range stretches from straightforward utility to premium comfort, off-road hardware, and street-focused performance.

For 2025, XL remains the straightforward work-and-weekend model, while XLT adds useful hauling and convenience equipment. Lariat focuses on comfort and technology with heated synthetic-leather-trimmed seats, premium audio, adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree camera. The new Lobo is tuned for paved-road handling with a lowered suspension and upgraded brakes, while Tremor is the trail-focused model with extra ground clearance, underbody protection, and low-speed trail controls.

Powertrain

Hybrid AWD joins the XL, XLT, and Lariat ranges. The new Lobo pairs a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with a seven-speed transmission, advanced four-wheel drive, and rear-wheel power management for sharper paved-road handling.

Styling

Ford revises the grille, front end, and headlamp appearance. Inside, the dashboard, center display area, and climate and audio controls are redesigned.

Tech

Every trim gains a standard 13.2-inch touchscreen, an 8-inch digital instrument display, and Ford's newer touchscreen system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Safety

Lane-departure warning becomes standard on XL and XLT. Lariat gains an upgraded driver-assistance suite and a standard 360-degree camera, while the newly separate Tremor trim also includes the upgraded assistance system and 360-degree camera.
