About the 2024 Ford F-150

14th generation (2021-present), mid-cycle refresh year

Ford positions the F-150 as a full-size pickup that can cover work, family, towing, recreation, and off-road use without forcing buyers into one formula. The core pitch is broad choice wrapped around real truck capability: strong towing and payload numbers, multiple gas and hybrid powertrains, smart trailer-assist tools, and useful bed features like onboard power and easier cargo access. In plain terms, it is meant to be the do-everything truck in the segment, with trims that range from basic jobsite duty to premium luxury and desert-speed performance.

The 2024 lineup runs from the work-focused XL and style-oriented STX to the mainstream XLT, upscale Lariat, western-themed King Ranch, and modern-looking Platinum. Tremor adds serious trail hardware without going as far as the desert-focused Raptor, while the Raptor R stands out with a 720-horsepower supercharged V8. Depending on trim, notable equipment includes trailer-assist tools, leather seating, a head-up display, onboard electrical power, and specialized off-road suspension.

What changed, by category

Powertrain
The stronger 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 became the base engine on lower trims, and the PowerBoost hybrid expanded into the XL level. The Raptor R’s supercharged V8 rose from 700 to 720 horsepower. Flexible-fuel powertrains left the King Ranch, Lariat, Platinum, Tremor, XL, and XLT.
Styling
Ford refreshed the front end across the lineup. Tremor received its own redesigned front treatment, King Ranch adopted darker gloss-black trim, and Platinum added factory blacked-out accents.
Safety
The 360-degree camera became standard on XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Tremor. Adaptive cruise control became standard on Lariat and Tremor, while blind-spot monitoring became standard on XL.
Tech
A 12-inch touchscreen and 12-inch digital instrument display became standard on every trim. Upper trims also gained access to a head-up display, and navigation became standard on XL.
Structural
The new Pro Access Tailgate joined the lineup, and a lockable bed storage box became standard across the range.

“Excellent value for the price paid. Has lots of technology even though it is a base model. Plenty of power and the 4wd feature is fantastic. Would buy again.”

“I own a 2019 Corvette Stingray Convertible, my dream car. However, my Detroit Lions Limited Edition F-150 draws way more attention.”

“I hate that there's no paper manual book. The front seat is so uncomfortable after 1 hour driving on STX. No option for power front seat on lower trim. The mirrors are funny looking. I can't wait to trade this F150 STX in for a Chevy or Ram.”
