About the 2024 BMW X7

1st generation X7 (G07, 2019-2026), second year after the 2023 mid-cycle refresh.

BMW positions the X7 as its largest and most family-friendly SUV: a three-row luxury model that delivers real long-distance comfort, a high-tech cabin, and more agile road manners than most full-size rivals. The brand’s messaging leans on space, premium finishes, and strong engines, but also on the idea that this big SUV still drives like a BMW. That balance of roomy practicality, luxury atmosphere, and sharper handling is what sets the X7 apart from truck-based competitors.

The xDrive40i is the polished core model, pairing seven-seat comfort with a 375-hp mild-hybrid six-cylinder engine, air suspension, and a large curved display. The M60i adds a 523-hp mild-hybrid V8 and sportier chassis tuning, while the ALPINA XB7 combines an ALPINA-tuned V8 with exclusive cabin materials and comfort-focused performance hardware.

“One of the most enjoyable vehicles I have ever driven. Comfortable, safe, addresses our needs. Quality workmanship.”

2024 BMW X7 xDrive40i

“Very nice ride- 2 MAJOR ISSUES-- the alarm when you lock the car-- it is so loud and offensive- it disturbs everyone within a large radius. THIS needs to be fixed. Other issue-- SO DUMB- Who took away the nice knob on the gear shifter? It is a major BUMMER- impacts EVERY RIDE. I can get a safe comfortable ride elsewhere. There is not a satisfying thing to hold onto...”
