About the 2023 Polestar 2

1st generation Polestar 2, final pre-refresh year before the larger 2024 update.

Polestar positions the 2 as an electric performance fastback: clean Scandinavian design, a minimalist cabin with responsibly sourced materials, Google-based infotainment, and sharper road manners than many mainstream EV rivals. Its core appeal is not just acceleration, but the combination of hatchback practicality, a premium feel, and a more distinctive, less common alternative to a Tesla Model 3 or similar compact luxury EV.

The 2023 Polestar 2 ranges from a 270-mile, front-wheel-drive single-motor fastback to quicker all-wheel-drive versions. Performance models add 476 hp, stronger Brembo brakes, and adjustable dampers, while Plus versions emphasize comfort with a panoramic glass roof, Harman Kardon audio, and a heat pump. Limited-run BST editions sit at the top with more focused suspension hardware and distinctive trim.

Comments from owners are optional, but included here when available.

“It's a nice vehicle that drives as I would expect a car to drive at this price point but it is lacking in some features and the app is terrible. I had more control in the app over my 2020 Mercedes than this car that has far more features so that is disappointing.”

“It looks really cool! It rides beautifully, handles well and is very peppy! There is a huge learning curve regarding the touch screen and controls. Hopefully it will help to save the environment.”

“Understand what you are looking for and that nothing is perfection. EVs have limitations and you have to work that.”
