Polestar positions the 2 as an electric performance fastback rather than a basic commuter EV. Its appeal centers on minimalist Scandinavian design, responsive road manners, hatchback practicality, and a cabin built around Google-based infotainment and thoughtfully chosen materials. Against rivals, it aims to feel more design-led and more driver-focused, while still delivering the everyday usability expected from a compact luxury EV.
The Long Range Single Motor is the range-focused version, with up to 320 miles of EPA range, while the Long Range Dual Motor adds all-wheel drive and stronger acceleration. Plus versions emphasize comfort with a panoramic glass roof, Harman Kardon audio, a heat pump, and heated rear seats. At the top, Performance & Plus combines its upgraded powertrain with manually adjustable Öhlins suspension, Brembo front brakes, and the Plus comfort features.

Long Range Single Motor models rise from 231 to 299 horsepower, from 243 to 361 lb-ft of torque, and from 270 to 320 miles of EPA range; they also get an 82-kWh battery and DC fast charging up to 205 kW. The regular Long Range Dual Motor models rise from 408 to 421 horsepower, from 487 to 546 lb-ft, and from 260 to 276 miles, while a new front-motor disconnect reduces energy use when all-wheel drive is not needed.
Styling
A new SmartZone front panel replaces the previous grille-style design. Fog lights also become standard on the dual-motor trims.
Safety
Blind-spot steering assistance, rear cross-traffic braking, rear collision warning and mitigation, a 360-degree camera, and auto-dimming exterior mirrors become standard across the lineup. Dual-motor trims also make Pilot Assist and adaptive cruise control standard.
Tech
Wireless phone charging becomes standard across the lineup.
