About the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLB

1st generation (X247), fourth model year, last year before the 2024 refresh.

Mercedes-Benz positions the GLB as the compact SUV that can do a little bit of everything: easy city size, upright styling, useful cargo space, available seating for up to seven, and a tech-heavy cabin. Its core appeal is practicality wrapped in Mercedes branding. Compared with sleeker rivals, the GLB leans more toward roominess and versatility, giving shoppers a premium small SUV that is shaped and packaged more like a scaled-down family hauler than a fashion-first crossover.

The 2023 GLB remains an upright, space-efficient small SUV with a sliding and reclining split rear seat, a power liftgate, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The GLB 250 has front-wheel drive, while the GLB 250 4MATIC adds all-wheel drive, an off-road driving mode, and downhill speed control for greater confidence in bad weather or on rough roads.

“Its a nice car. I am still adjusting to driving on the right with a left hand wheel after living abroad for 4 years. As the right hand controls are how to control the vehicle, I am constantly having to remember that they are not the turn signals.”

“I would highly recommend this vehicle to anyone! Nice smooth ride, very comfortable on long rides. Great sound system. Passenger in back can hear conversations from the front of the vehicle and always feels included.”

“Great styling if looking for a comfortable compact luxury SUV. Good acceleration if needed with handling to match. Should have come standard with wireless Apple CarPlay and phone charger. Those would be the only two unattractive parts about it. For the price of the vehicle, those two items should be standard.”
