2023 Jeep Gladiator

The 2023 Jeep Gladiator is a light trim-update year, led by the new Freedom special edition with steel bumpers, rock rails, LED front lighting and leather-trimmed seats. It is not a redesign; the body, chassis, gas V6, four-wheel-drive systems and cabin layout largely carry over.

About the 2023 Jeep Gladiator

1st generation (JT), fourth model year and final year before the 2024 mid-cycle refresh

Jeep positions the Gladiator as a midsize crew-cab pickup that combines genuine truck utility with Wrangler-style open-air driving and strong trail capability. Its defining differences are standard 4WD, removable doors, a fold-down windshield, a five-foot cargo bed and specialized factory off-road versions. It targets shoppers who want one vehicle for outdoor recreation, hauling and towing without giving up the distinctive Jeep experience.

The 2023 lineup stretches from the straightforward Sport, with removable doors and a fold-down windshield, to the comfort-focused High Altitude, with leather seating, navigation and extra driver aids. Rubicon focuses on slow-speed rock trails with locking front and rear differentials, while Mojave uses specialized FOX suspension hardware for desert and sand driving. The limited Rubicon FarOut combines Rubicon trail equipment with the final diesel powertrain.

How the 2024 Jeep Gladiator compares

The 2024 Jeep Gladiator gets a major mid-cycle refresh, its biggest update since launch, led by a redesigned dashboard with a standard 12.3-inch touchscreen. It is a substantial update to the existing first-generation truck, not a full redesign.

Frequently asked questions

Was the 2023 Jeep Gladiator redesigned?

No. The 2023 Gladiator received targeted trim and equipment changes, while its body, chassis, gas V6, four-wheel-drive systems and basic cabin layout carried over. The broader mid-cycle refresh arrived for 2024.

What is new about the 2023 Jeep Gladiator Freedom edition?

The Freedom edition is new for 2023. It combines military-themed details with steel front and rear bumpers, steel rock rails, LED headlights and fog lights, leather-trimmed front seats and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

What is the 2023 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon FarOut?

The Rubicon FarOut is a 1,000-unit special edition created to mark the end of Gladiator diesel production. It pairs the 3.0-liter turbo-diesel V6 with Rubicon trail hardware, a steel front bumper, LED lighting, leather-trimmed seats and heated front seats.

Did diesel availability change for the 2023 Jeep Gladiator?

Yes. The diesel engine was dropped from the Sport and Texas Trail Edition, and the limited Rubicon FarOut marked the end of diesel Gladiator production. Diesel power remained part of certain other 2023 trims before production ended.

What changed on the 2023 Jeep Gladiator Willys?

The 2023 Willys gained standard proximity keyless entry, a 7-inch driver-information display, a universal garage-door opener and dual-zone automatic climate control. Models with the automatic transmission also gained remote start.
