About the 2020 Jaguar F-PACE

1st generation (2017-2020), fourth model year and last year before the 2021 redesign.

Jaguar positions the F-PACE as a true Jaguar first and an SUV second: sporty handling, strong road manners, standard AWD, and dramatic styling, but with the passenger room and cargo space people expect from a family-friendly luxury SUV. Its core appeal is giving shoppers something more engaging to drive than many comfort-first rivals, while still covering everyday needs with a roomy second row, useful cargo area, and a broad spread of four-cylinder, V6, and V8 powertrains.

The 2020 range stretches from practical turbocharged four-cylinder models to the supercharged V6 S and supercharged V8 SVR, all with AWD. The Checkered Flag and 300 Sport editions emphasize darker exterior details, sport seats, navigation, and digital gauges rather than major mechanical changes. The luxury-focused Portfolio counters with Windsor leather, 20-way front seats, surround-sound audio, and power-reclining rear seats.

What changed, by category

Powertrain
The 20d Premium, 20d Prestige, and 20d R-Sport diesel trims were dropped in the U.S., leaving a gasoline-only range of turbocharged four-cylinder, supercharged V6, and supercharged V8 models.
Styling
Jaguar added the Checkered Flag and 300 Sport limited editions. Both brought distinct sport-themed exterior and cabin details, and the broader lineup received a revised paint palette.
Tech
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto became standard across the lineup. Standard cabin equipment also expanded, including added power lumbar adjustment on Premium trims and broader ambient lighting.

“the software is quirky , sometimes delayed. But overall it works well. There are also cheap plastics on the lower part of the doors which I'm not happy with for the brand and price-point of the SVR. Also there should be more selectable settings for the AWD system, as well as winter wheel and tire options. Jaguar/Land Rover puts odd sized wheels and tires on, which takes tyre manufactures years to make other options.”

“Be aware of your personal priorities. I am willing to compromise fuel economy for performance. Many people prefer economical operating costs. Premium fuel requirements may not be acceptable to many people.”
