About the 2020 Audi S5

2nd generation S5 (B9, 2018-2024 in the US), refresh year.

Audi positions the S5 as the sweet-spot performance version of the A5 family: quicker and more serious than an A5, but easier to live with than an RS5. Its appeal is the mix of strong V6 power, standard all-wheel drive, upscale cabin materials, and everyday comfort. The Sportback adds real cargo usefulness, while the Coupe and Cabriolet lean harder into style and grand-touring character.

The 2020 S5 pairs a 349-hp turbocharged V6 with an eight-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive in Coupe, Cabriolet and Sportback forms. Premium covers the performance and comfort essentials, while Premium Plus adds digital gauges, blind-spot monitoring and wireless phone charging. Prestige brings the fullest technology and driver-assistance package, including adaptive cruise control, a head-up display and a 360-degree camera.

“I am not very happy with the infotainment system. For example, whenever I use Siri on my phone when it is hooked up to my car with bluetooth, there is a message that stays on the screen afterwards that I must answer to remove. Navigation around the screens is not very easy or logical.”

“Drive the car, with the top down and in Sport mode. Shift the gears manually and listen to the growl of the engine.”
