Mercedes-AMG positioned the GLC as a compact luxury crossover that combines sports-car-like acceleration and handling with five-seat usefulness. It was sold in a conventional SUV body and a lower-roof Coupe body, giving shoppers either greater practicality or a more dramatic shape. Compared with a regular GLC, every AMG version added a stronger engine, rear-biased or fully variable AWD, adaptive performance suspension, larger brakes and a sport-focused cabin while retaining everyday comfort and cargo space.
The 2019 range spans the everyday-focused GLC 43, the V8-powered GLC 63 and the more focused, Coupe-only GLC 63 S. The 503-hp GLC 63 S adds Nappa leather, a 13-speaker Burmester audio system and an electronically controlled rear differential for improved traction when accelerating out of corners.
