About the 2020 Mercedes-Benz AMG GLC

First-generation GLC (X253 SUV/C253 Coupe), mid-cycle refresh year

The AMG GLC turns Mercedes-Benz’s compact luxury SUV into a high-performance daily driver without giving up five-seat usefulness, a power liftgate, or all-weather AWD. The range pairs an everyday-friendly V6 in the GLC 43 with hand-built V8 power in the GLC 63 models. Adaptive air suspension, strong acceleration, rear-biased handling, and a well-finished cabin distinguish it from ordinary compact luxury SUVs, while SUV and Coupe body styles serve different practicality priorities.

The 2020 AMG GLC ranged from the everyday-focused GLC 43 to the 469-hp GLC 63 and 503-hp GLC 63 S. The GLC 43 paired a twin-turbo V6 with rear-biased AWD, while the GLC 63 models used hand-built twin-turbo V8s, variable-torque AWD, adaptive air suspension, and a performance exhaust. The GLC 63 S was the most performance-focused version and came to the U.S. only with the Coupe's sloped roof.
