2017 Cadillac XT5

The 2017 Cadillac XT5 was an all-new model that replaced the SRX, not a mild update. Its biggest change was the move to a lighter, roomier two-row SUV platform.

About the 2017 Cadillac XT5

1st generation XT5, first model year; all-new model replacing the Cadillac SRX.

Cadillac positioned the XT5 as its core midsize luxury crossover: a two-row SUV meant to combine a roomy, upscale cabin with lighter weight, quiet highway comfort, and easy everyday drivability. The brand emphasized interior space, craftsmanship, and technology more than rugged utility. Against rivals, Cadillac leaned on the XT5’s lighter structure, strong V6 power, sliding rear seat, and upscale cabin presentation to make it feel like a practical family SUV with a premium edge.

Every 2017 XT5 has a 3.6-liter V6, an 8-speed automatic, an 8-inch touchscreen, smartphone integration, wireless phone charging, and a sliding and reclining rear seat. Luxury focuses on comfort with leather, heated front seats, and a panoramic sunroof, while Premium Luxury adds navigation, a 14-speaker Bose system, ventilated front seats, and more driver-assistance features. Platinum tops the range with richer leather, a surround-view camera, a rearview mirror that can show a camera image, and a head-up display that projects key information onto the windshield.

“Very comfortable, good room in front & rear seats with storage. The vehicle has good power, and drives very well in all road conditions. The technology is appropriate and easy to use.”

“I love the styling and quality of this vehicle. Handles great, it's nimble quick and responds extremely well. The wheels are stylish and easy to clean. I don't like that you have to use Onstar for navigation rather than having built in navigation. Other than that the car is magnificent!”

“I own a 2017 Cadillac XT5 Luxury. The only issue that this brand is known for is the thermostat might break and need replacement. I've heard the charging station inside the car may need reprogramming or only works with certain phones. I wish I could turn off the auto stop/start. But I LOVEEEEE this car. The features, the look, comfort, everything. My kids love it, and I have a moonroof. Chef's kiss***”
