Porsche positions the Panamera as the sports-car take on a large luxury sedan: four doors, real rear-seat room, and a big rear hatch, but with sharper handling and stronger driver focus than most big premium sedans. Its core appeal is doing two jobs at once. It works as a fast grand touring car for long trips, yet it also has the comfort, cargo access, and prestige expected in this class. The 2016 Panamera lineup ranges from 310-hp V6 models to the 570-hp Turbo S, with rear-wheel drive, all-wheel drive, and a plug-in hybrid represented. The new Edition models give the standard V6 a fuller equipment package, including adaptive suspension, upgraded headlights, a rearview camera, and heated rear seats. Executive models use a 5.9-inch-longer wheelbase for more rear-seat room, while the GTS emphasizes V8 sound and a more driver-focused cabin.
