About the 2015 Lexus ES

6th generation (2013-2018), third model year and the last year before the 2016 styling and tech refresh.

For 2015, Lexus positions the ES as the comfort-focused luxury sedan in its lineup: quiet, roomy, easy to drive, and more interested in smoothness than sport. Lexus repeatedly highlights its flagship-like comfort, generous rear-seat space, and calm ride, while giving shoppers a choice between a strong V6 or a high-efficiency hybrid. Against rivals, the ES stands out by blending big-sedan comfort with Lexus reliability and a very polished day-to-day driving experience.

The ES 350 is the comfort-first version, with a smooth 268-hp V6, roomy cabin and 10-way power front seats. The ES 300h emphasizes quiet, efficient commuting with its four-cylinder hybrid system and 40-mpg combined rating. A limited-run ES 350 Crafted Line adds a two-tone interior, heated and ventilated front seats, blind-spot monitoring and parking sensors while retaining the regular ES 350’s relaxed character.

“The front console is not a functional or useful feature. It is very hard to store or retrieve anything from it. I miss the sun glass compartment that my 2005 had. The front doors are very difficult to open and have the stay open when exiting the car.”

“Very dissapointed in the lack of a smooth ride. I can feel every imperfection in the road surface. Not like my previous auto. Feels like riding in a truck!! Also, the quality of the sound system is rather muffled, making listening to talk radio stations difficult to understand. I did not expect these problems in this quality vehicle.”
