About the 2015 Honda Fit

3rd generation Fit (U.S. market, 2015-2020), first year of the redesign.

Honda positions the Fit as the small hatchback that can do big-car jobs. Its core appeal is easy city driving and strong fuel economy without giving up passenger room or cargo flexibility, helped by the tall body and Magic Seat rear bench. Honda also pitches it as more than basic transportation: it is efficient, practical, easy to park, and more enjoyable to drive than many economy hatchbacks. That mix of flexibility, space, and everyday usability is what sets the Fit apart.

The 2015 Fit remains a small hatchback with a flexible Magic Seat interior, but the redesigned lineup is roomier and more modern. LX covers the practical basics with Bluetooth and a rearview camera, EX adds a 7-inch touchscreen, moonroof, push-button start, and a passenger-side camera display, while EX-L adds heated leather-trimmed seats and a CVT with paddle shifters.

What changed, by category

Powertrain
Every trim gets a new 1.5-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder engine. A new 6-speed manual and CVT replace the previous transmissions, and the prior Fit EV is dropped.
Styling
The hatchback has a completely new exterior with a redesigned front end, grille, and lighting. Its body is slightly shorter even though the wheelbase is longer.
Safety
The newer ACE body structure is designed to improve crash protection, and a multi-angle rearview camera becomes standard on every trim.
Tech
Bluetooth becomes standard throughout the lineup. EX and EX-L add a new 7-inch touchscreen and a passenger-side camera display.
Structural
A new platform, greater use of high-strength steel, a longer wheelbase, and revised chassis provide more passenger space and rear legroom while improving body stiffness, ride comfort, and handling.

“There is a high pitch tone at highway speeds that leaves my ears ringing, especially when I drive on grooved pavement. There seems to be little sound proofing of the vehicles, and I suspect the tires contribute to an overall noisy cabin.”

RBRobert B.
2015 Honda Fit LX

“Honda is a tried and true manufacturer, and the Fit is a sporty, economical vehicle that provides me with all the features I want and need.”

SLStephanie L.
2015 Honda Fit EX

“I love my Honda Fit! Very reliable and easy to maneuver, especially in the city. Has more interior space than it seems, and has great gas mileage. Nothing fancy, but still is a blast to drive.”
