About the 2014 Jaguar XK

2nd generation (X150; 2007-2015), post-2012 design update and second-to-last US model year; 2014 introduced the limited XKR-S GT.

Jaguar positioned the XK as a luxury grand tourer rather than a tightly focused two-seat sports car. Its core strengths were V8 power, a lightweight aluminum body, comfortable long-distance ride quality, a leather-trimmed 2+2 cabin and a choice of coupe or convertible body styles. The model blended classic long-hood Jaguar styling with stronger everyday comfort and luggage space than many dedicated sports cars, while the supercharged versions added near-supercar acceleration.

The 2014 XK range runs from the comfort-focused, 385-hp XK grand tourer to the 510-hp supercharged XKR and 550-hp XKR-S. The limited XKR-S GT sits at the track-focused end, pairing the XKR-S engine with carbon-ceramic brakes, quicker steering and extensive carbon-fiber aerodynamic parts.

How the 2015 Jaguar XK compares

The biggest change for the 2015 Jaguar XK was the arrival of the US-only Final Fifty special edition to mark the model’s last year of production. The rest of the range received only minor standard-equipment updates.

Frequently asked questions

What is the biggest change to the 2014 Jaguar XK?

The biggest change is the addition of the XKR-S GT, a coupe-only, street-legal track model. It uses specialized suspension, steering, brakes and carbon-fiber aerodynamic hardware, while the rest of the XK range largely carries over.

Is the 2014 Jaguar XKR-S GT more powerful than the regular XKR-S?

No. Both use a 550-hp supercharged 5.0-liter V8. The XKR-S GT focuses instead on sharper cornering, stronger braking and greater high-speed stability through carbon-ceramic brakes, revised suspension, quicker steering and added aerodynamic downforce.

How rare is the 2014 Jaguar XKR-S GT in the United States?

The 2014 XKR-S GT is very rare, with only 25 coupes allocated to the United States. It was not offered as a convertible.

What changed on the regular 2014 Jaguar XKR?

The regular 2014 XKR gained the Aero Pack as standard. It adds an aerodynamic front splitter and a different rear spoiler, while the 510-hp supercharged V8 and main luxury equipment carry over.

Was the entire Jaguar XK redesigned for 2014?

No. The 2014 XK remained part of the existing second generation. The limited XKR-S GT was a new addition to the range, not a redesign of the full XK lineup.
