About the 2014 Jaguar F-TYPE

1st generation (X152), first model year in the U.S.; launch-year convertible-only lineup before the coupe joined for 2015.

Jaguar positioned the 2014 F-TYPE as a return to the brand’s sports-car roots: a compact two-seat roadster focused on performance, agility, and driver involvement, but still finished with Jaguar-style luxury touches. The core appeal was emotional as much as mechanical — striking design, a loud supercharged soundtrack, quick responses, and a driver-focused cockpit — aimed at shoppers who wanted a dramatic sports car that also felt special on everyday drives.

The base F-TYPE is the simpler roadster, with a 340-hp supercharged V6, a power soft top, an 8-inch navigation touchscreen, and Meridian audio. The 380-hp S adds sharper performance hardware, while the 495-hp V8 S tops the range with stronger brakes, an electronic differential, leather-trimmed power seats, and quad exhaust outlets.

How the 2015 Jaguar F-TYPE compares

The big change for 2015 is the arrival of the fixed-roof F-TYPE Coupe, which turns the former roadster-only model into a broader sports-car range. A new 550-hp R Coupe becomes the flagship, while the convertibles change far less.

“This car is beautiful.....and can keep up/beat U.S. Detroit V8s. It can out maneuver a Porsche 911. However, with that being said, she is not very comfy.. you will feel every pot hole, bump or undulations. And with a cost that over 100,000 brand new, ultimately this is not worth it.......NEW. But used, below 45,000........Yes, definitely worth it!! There is nothing like driving the F-Type, what a car!!!”

“Jaguar F-Type has been amazing. It's very quick and the styling is amazing. I didn't want to get a Porsche like everyone else I like the individuality of jaguar. I get nothing but compliments on how good looking the car is. It's great!!”
