2014 INFINITI Q60

The biggest change for 2014 is the name: the former INFINITI G Coupe and G Convertible become the Q60, while the IPL models become Q60 IPL. The underlying cars carry over without a major hardware redesign.

About the 2014 INFINITI Q60

Second-generation FM-platform two-door family, late-cycle rename year (2014-2015 Q60; previously sold as the 2008-2013 G Coupe and 2009-2013 G Convertible).

Infiniti positioned the 2014 Q60 as a style-forward luxury two-door with strong standard V6 power, rear-drive character, and a richly trimmed cabin. Buyers could get it as a coupe or as a retractable-hardtop convertible without dropping to a small base engine. Compared with rivals, the Q60 leaned on dramatic styling, standard performance, and comfort features more than back-seat room or the newest electronics.

The 2014 Q60 lineup spans a well-equipped Journey luxury coupe, an open-air convertible with a retractable hardtop, and sportier Q60S and IPL versions. Journey pairs a 330-hp 3.7-liter V6 with leather seating, while Q60S adds a 6-speed manual transmission and sharper steering and brakes. The IPL sits at the top with a stronger V6 tune, a louder exhaust, unique bodywork, sport seats, Bose audio, and navigation.

How the 2015 INFINITI Q60 compares

The main change for the 2015 INFINITI Q60 is the new Q60S Limited coupe, which replaces the previous IPL coupe in both manual and automatic forms. Most of the regular coupe and convertible lineup carries over without major mechanical, safety, or technology updates.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 2014 INFINITI Q60 a redesigned model?

No. The 2014 Q60 is mainly the previous G Coupe and G Convertible under Infiniti’s new naming system, with no major redesign to the platform, body structure, powertrains, safety equipment, or technology.

What is the difference between the 2014 Q60 and the 2013 G Coupe or G Convertible?

The main difference is the model name. For 2014, the G Coupe and G Convertible become the Q60, but their basic platform, V6 engines, transmissions, and coupe or retractable-hardtop convertible body styles largely carry over.

Does the 2014 INFINITI Q60 have a manual transmission?

Yes. The sport-focused 2014 Q60S uses a 6-speed manual transmission with its 3.7-liter V6, along with sport-tuned steering, larger brakes, and more supportive front seats.

What makes the 2014 Q60 IPL different from the regular Q60?

The 2014 Q60 IPL is the factory-tuned performance version. It has a stronger 3.7-liter V6 tune, a high-flow exhaust, firmer suspension and brake tuning, unique aerodynamic bodywork, and IPL-branded leather sport seats.

Was the 2014 Q60 sold as both a coupe and a convertible?

Yes. The 2014 Q60 was sold as a fixed-roof coupe and as a convertible with a power-folding retractable hardtop.

“Love my car. Definitely is not a family car. Bought it for its style, not trunk size or back seat size. Definitely a toy to enjoy!”

JMJordan M.
2014 INFINITI Q60 IPL Coupe RWD

“I am disappointed that stereo system does not have music bluetooth connectivity which is becoming standard in many lower end models compared to Q60 Coupe. Also no auxiliary jack included, just 1 USB connection.”
