Powertrain
Three new EcoTec3 engines replaced the previous engine lineup, and each was paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The Hybrid trim was dropped, and the conventional gas-only powertrain option left the Work Truck lineup.
Styling
The Silverado received a complete exterior and interior redesign. A new Double Cab replaced the previous extended-cab setup, and the new High Country trim added a more upscale look with a unique chrome grille and 20-inch chrome wheels.
Safety
Four-wheel disc brakes became standard, and the Z71 package gained Hill Descent Control to help manage speed on steep slopes. LTZ also made its rearview camera standard.
Tech
The redesigned cabin introduced Chevrolet’s MyLink touchscreen system. Bluetooth and USB ports became standard on LT, while LTZ made its touchscreen standard.
Structural
