Chevrolet pitched the Silverado 1500 as a dependable full-size pickup that could work hard without feeling crude day to day. The brand leaned on strong towing and payload capability, quieter cabin design, durable interior materials, and efficient EcoTec3 truck engines, especially its V8s. The lineup was broad by design: simple work trims for job use, Z71 models for rougher terrain, and upscale trims for buyers who wanted real truck capability with more comfort and tech.

The Work Truck stays focused on job-site basics, while the LT adds everyday comfort and a more polished cabin. Z71 versions pair that comfort with off-road suspension, an automatic locking rear differential, and hill-descent control. High Country tops the range with leather, 20-inch chrome wheels, Bose audio, a spray-in bedliner, and trailering equipment.

Powertrain
High Country, LTZ, and Z71 LTZ models with the optional 6.2-liter V8 gained an 8-speed automatic. Gas powertrain entries joined the High Country, LT, LTZ, Work Truck, Z71 LT, and Z71 LTZ listings, while flexible-fuel powertrains left High Country, LTZ, and Z71 LTZ.
Tech
Built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi became newly available. Navigation became standard on High Country, while the touchscreen changed from standard to optional on LT and Z71 LT.
