About the 2014 BMW 2 Series

1st generation 2 Series Coupe (F22), first U.S. model year.

BMW positions the 2 Series Coupe as a small, driver-focused luxury coupe built around traditional BMW traits: rear-wheel drive, balanced proportions, four usable seats, and strong turbocharged engines. It is aimed at shoppers who want a more personal, more engaging drive than a small luxury sedan usually delivers, while still getting everyday comfort, a usable trunk, and premium cabin features.

The 228i is the lighter, everyday-focused version, with a 240-hp turbo four-cylinder engine, rear-wheel drive, selectable driving modes, and a 6.5-inch touchscreen system. The M235i is the performance-focused trim, pairing a 320-hp turbo six-cylinder engine with upgraded suspension, steering, brakes, and sport seats.

“What can be said. Its smaller, more lightweight and more exclusive than its 3 series brethren. It also has the same engine with a perfect 50/50 weight distribution. Make sure you find one with the lighting package, as those HID angel eyes that make BMW famous do not come as standard, and will cost you around $3 for a retrofit.”
