In the newest redesigned lineup, the order is S, SV, SR, then SL. S covers the essentials, SV adds daily-use convenience, SR focuses on sportier styling, and SL is the comfort-focused version. Older lineups used other names, including FE+, SR Turbo, NISMO, and SE-R.
On the newest Sentra, the SV adds a 12.3-inch digital gauge display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, remote start, a smarter key, upgraded cloth, alloy wheels, and selectable Sport, Standard, and Eco driving modes. The S already has the large center screen and core safety tech.
On the newest models, the SR builds on the SV with 18-inch wheels, darker sport body trim, a rear spoiler, heated mirrors, sport cloth with contrast stitching, a six-speaker stereo, and a wireless phone charger. It changes the look and cabin feel more than the performance.

The SL is the comfort-focused choice in the newest redesigned lineup. It combines quilted premium seating with heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a moonroof, Bose audio, a power driver's seat, a surround-view camera, and added highway driving assistance.
FE+ identifies an older fuel-economy-focused Sentra, not a hybrid. Depending on the era and trim, it combined a continuously variable automatic transmission with fuel-saving calibration and aerodynamic pieces such as underbody deflectors or a rear spoiler.
The FE+ S is the simpler mileage-focused version, while the FE+ SV adds more cabin convenience. In their era, the SV version included upgraded cloth and door trim, a six-speaker stereo, steering-wheel audio controls, security features, and more decorative gauges.
Both performance trims use a 188-hp turbo engine, but the NISMO is more aggressive. It adds a NISMO-tuned suspension, distinctive bodywork, 18-inch NISMO wheels, and sport seats with synthetic suede. The SR Turbo has a subtler look and includes a moonroof.
The regular SR is mainly a sport-appearance Sentra, while the SR Turbo adds real performance upgrades. In the late seventh generation, the SR Turbo used a 188-hp 1.6-liter turbo engine, firmer steering and suspension tuning, and larger brakes.
The SE-R is the more everyday-friendly performance model, with a 177-hp 2.5-liter engine and an automatic transmission. The SE-R Spec V raises output to 200 hp and adds a manual transmission, firmer lowered suspension, chassis bracing, and stronger brakes for a more focused driving feel.
