From 2017 to 2026, the AMG C-Class spans two generations. The current 5th Generation — W206 arrived for 2023, following the 4th Generation — W205/C205/A205 (2017–2022 coverage).
5th Generation — W206 (2023–Present)
The W206 generation moved the AMG C-Class sedans from V6 and V8 engines to electrified turbocharged four-cylinder powertrains. It also brought newer cabin displays and rear-wheel steering, with the C43 arriving first and the C63 S E Performance following for 2024.

A quiet carryover year. The C43 is unchanged after its 2025 output increase, while the C63 S E Performance receives only minor equipment adjustments.
2025
A newer touchscreen system and a center airbag between the front seats become standard across both sedans. The C43 also receives an output increase, but there is no redesign.
2024Trim changes
The C63 S E Performance joins the U.S. lineup with a 671-hp plug-in-hybrid powertrain, AWD, rear-wheel steering, and adaptive suspension. The C43 gains a standard wireless phone charger.
2023New generation
The redesigned W206 C43 sedan arrives with a 402-hp electrified turbo four-cylinder, AWD, rear-wheel steering, and newer cabin displays. Earlier-generation C43 and C63 S coupes and convertibles remain for this transition year, with the C63 S returning after skipping 2022.
4th Generation — W205/C205/A205 (2017–2022 coverage)
This generation paired the C43 with a twin-turbo V6 and the C63 models with twin-turbo V8 power. It covered sedan, coupe, and convertible body styles; the sedans ended after 2021, while the two-door versions carried into the mixed-generation 2023 model year described above.
