Jeep Liberty

The Jeep introduced the Liberty in 2002 as a replacement for its aging Cherokee model (which was later revived in 2014). Like its predecessor, the Liberty is a compact SUV that embraces the automaker's off-road heritage with its rugged design, generous ground clearance, and available four-wheel drive. Since a 2008 redesign, the Liberty comes exclusively with a 210-horsepower V6 under the hood, while the functional cabin can best be described as utilitarian. On the downside, the Liberty's off-road nature compromises its on-road ride quality and handling, and its fuel economy falls well short of class leaders. Additionally, the quality of its interior materials lacks the premium feel found in more modern rivals. Buyers should also note that Jeep discontinued the Liberty after the 2012 model year.
