Dodge Charger

The Dodge Charger is a roaring tribute to American muscle, melding heart-pounding performance with modern creature comforts. Distinguished by its aggressive, attention-grabbing design, this four-door brute doesn't go unnoticed. Enthusiasts laud the Charger for its spacious cabin, range of brawny engines, and intuitive infotainment setup. However, some detractors can't look past its less-than-stellar fuel economy and occasionally jarring ride. Despite these quibbles, the Charger continues to charm gearheads in search of a distinctive blend of power, style, and practicality in a large sedan.

Dodge Charger Model Lineup

The Dodge Charger is a full-size sedan with room for up to five passengers. It has been part of Dodge's lineup since its reintroduction in 2006, with the most recent generation spanning from 2011 to the present. The Charger shares its platform and some components with the Dodge Challenger and the Chrysler 300.

The Charger is available in a range of trims, including the SXT, GT, R/T, Scat Pack, and SRT Hellcat. The SXT and GT trims are the base and mid-level trims, offering a balance of performance, comfort, and affordability. The R/T, Scat Pack, and SRT Hellcat trims emphasize performance, with the latter two catering to hardcore enthusiasts.

A 3.6-liter V6 engine powers the SXT and GT trims, producing around 292 to 300 horsepower. The R/T trim features a 5.7-liter V8 engine with approximately 370 horsepower, while the Scat Pack gets a 6.4-liter V8 with 485 horsepower. The high-performance SRT Hellcat is equipped with a supercharged 6.2-liter V8, generating an impressive 707 to 717 horsepower, depending on the model year. Rear-wheel drive is standard across all trims, with all-wheel drive available in the SXT and GT trims.

In 2015, the Charger received an upgraded Uconnect infotainment system with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Available safety features include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking.

We recommend 2015 and later Charger models for their balance of performance, comfort, and technology. Those seeking a comfortable daily driver should consider the SXT or GT trims with the 3.6-liter V6 engine. If performance is a priority, the R/T or Scat Pack trims with their respective HEMI V8 engines will be more suitable. The range-topping SRT Hellcat trim is best for those who desire the ultimate in performance; however, be prepared for higher fuel and insurance costs.

Worst vehicle I have ever purchased. Brand new with 60 miles on it and I'm dropping it off in the shop today for the 5th time. I will never purchase a dodge again.

Would love to see MORE Dodge hype on the car, but trust me, am working on making it more customized about the brand and the hemi. Glad to be a part of the Dodge family, even ordered some shirts to enjoy!

This is my second Dodge Charger, both are great cars. This one is only for pleasure and an occasional drive to work. Only regret is that I didn't get the SRT version.

The Charger is the best, most fun car I have had in a very long time!!! I absolutely love my car! It's comfortable, it has a smooth ride, it gets great gas mileage, with a ton of power. It doesn't get much better than that.
