Work Truck, often shortened to WT, is the job-first trim. On newer models it centers on durable vinyl seating, rubber flooring, core safety features, a 7-inch touchscreen, and a cargo bed with 12 tie-downs instead of luxury or appearance upgrades.

On newer Silverados, Custom adds more everyday convenience while keeping the cabin fairly simple. Key upgrades include a power driver’s seat, remote start, built-in trailering equipment, and an easier-to-use power-locking and releasing tailgate.

On newer models, LT makes the biggest cabin upgrade: a 13.4-inch touchscreen, 12.3-inch digital gauge display, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, and a trailer brake controller. Custom stays more basic and value-focused.

In recent years, LT and RST share the large-screen cabin and heated comfort features. RST mainly changes the look with body-color bumpers, grille trim, and door handles, plus LED fog lights and taillights. Pick RST for street-focused styling rather than added trail hardware.

Both recent Trail Boss trims have four-wheel drive, a 2-inch factory lift, protective skid plates, and a locking rear differential. LT Trail Boss adds the more modern cabin, including large screens, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel.

Since its 2022 arrival, ZR2 has been the more serious trail model. It goes beyond the Trail Boss formula with advanced Multimatic suspension dampers, locking differentials at both ends, larger aluminum skid plates, and a front bumper shaped for clearing obstacles.

On newer trucks, LTZ builds on LT’s large-screen cabin with perforated leather-trimmed seats, ventilated front seats, Bose audio, a power up-and-down tailgate, and broader camera coverage. It suits buyers who want more comfort without moving to High Country.

In recent years, both are premium trims with leather, large screens, and extensive camera views. High Country adds a richer presentation with premium leather and open-pore wood, plus features such as side steps, a spray-in bedliner, and adaptive cruise control.

Work Truck is the straightforward choice. Its durable cabin and bed tie-downs suit job-site or fleet use. Custom is the step up when remote start, a power driver’s seat, trailering equipment, and easier tailgate operation matter in daily use.

LT is the balanced everyday choice in the newer lineup. It keeps the Silverado’s work capability but adds the large touchscreen, digital gauges, heated seats, dual-zone climate control, and a trailer brake controller without moving into the premium trims.

Custom Trail Boss covers the essentials with a lift, four-wheel drive, skid plates, and a locking rear differential. LT Trail Boss adds a more comfortable cabin. ZR2 is the stronger fit for harder trails because it adds advanced dampers and front and rear locking differentials.

XFE identifies an older fuel-economy-focused Silverado. It was a narrow two-wheel-drive Crew Cab setup that kept a 5.3-liter V8 and useful towing hardware while using efficiency-minded equipment. It is not part of the current trim ladder.

On older Silverados, LS sits above the plain Work Truck and below better-equipped retail trims. It typically adds cloth upholstery, remote keyless entry, chrome bumpers, and basic touchscreen conveniences while retaining a simple, practical layout.

These names combine a regular trim with factory off-road equipment. Z71 LT emphasizes practical comfort and trail hardware, while Z71 LTZ adds leather and more upscale features. Exact content varies by era, and a 2019 Z71 LT may be an older-body Silverado 1500 LD.
