Chevrolet Blazer
The Blazer nameplate has been around since the 1970s, but you won’t mistake Chevrolet’s newest version (and first since 2005) for one of those earlier rough-and-ready SUVs. The all-new Blazer is a thoroughly modern crossover that’s influenced more by the sporty Camaro than by its original namesake. Owners appreciate the latest version for its sharp styling inside and out, its athletic driving dynamics, and its comfortable ride. On the downside, performance from the base 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is subpar for the segment. Also, many desirable features are limited to the priciest trim levels.

Chevrolet Blazer Model Lineup
The Blazer is a midsize crossover SUV with room for up to five passengers. In Chevrolet’s sport-ute lineup, it slots between the compact Equinox and the three-row Traverse. The Blazer shares a platform and some components with the GMC Acadia and the Cadillac XT5, which are built by Chevy’s sister companies.
Chevrolet sells the Blazer in a variety of trims, which correspond not only with equipment levels but also with the included engine. The entry-level L and 1LT trims (available through 2021) employ a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine making 193 horsepower. The mid-tier 2LT and 3LT trims offer a choice between a 230-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder (starting in 2020) and a 305-hp 3.6-liter V6. And at the high end of the range, the performance-themed RS and the fully loaded Premier trims get the 3.6-liter V6 exclusively. All versions utilize a nine-speed automatic transmission, and the 2LT and higher can be equipped with optional all-wheel drive. No hybrid or electric versions have yet been released.
Standard equipment on the Blazer includes keyless entry and ignition, dual-zone automatic climate control, a rearview camera, and an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Higher-level trims offer additional goodies, such as remote start, a power liftgate, leather upholstery, heated seats, and a blind-spot warning system. In 2021, Chevrolet made some active safety features, including forward collision mitigation and lane-keeping assist, standard on the 2LT and higher trims; before that, they were optional. Other notable options include adaptive cruise control, a surround-view camera, and a wireless device charger.
