About the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV

1st generation (2024-present), third model year; major trim and equipment expansion rather than a redesign

Chevrolet presents the Silverado EV as a full-size electric pickup built around long driving range, strong towing and payload capability, a roomy crew-cab interior and useful cargo solutions. Its main advantages are the weatherproof front trunk, broad battery choices, dual-motor 4WD and the folding midgate fitted to selected higher specifications. It targets truck owners who need real work capability without gasoline, while higher trims add comfort, maneuverability and off-road hardware.

The 2026 lineup stretches from the work-focused Work Truck to the everyday LT, off-road Trail Boss and road-focused RST special edition. Standouts include the Work Truck Max Range’s 493-mile EPA estimate, the LT Max Range’s folding midgate and head-up display, and the Trail Boss Max Range’s lifted suspension and 478-mile GM estimate. The limited RST Stars & Steel edition pairs adjustable air suspension and four-wheel steering with upgraded Brembo front brakes.

Frequently asked questions

What is the biggest change to the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV?

The first Silverado EV Trail Boss is the biggest 2026 change. It adds a 2-inch factory lift, off-road-tuned suspension, four-wheel steering, Sidewinder diagonal steering and Terrain mode.

Is the 2026 Silverado EV Trail Boss a separate trim?

Yes. The 2026 Trail Boss is a new off-road trim offered in Extended Range and Max Range versions, rather than an appearance package for the LT or RST.

Did the 2026 Silverado EV Work Truck get the larger screens?

Yes. The Work Truck receives the 17.7-inch touchscreen and 11-inch digital driver display as standard equipment for 2026.

Does the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado EV still have an RST?

Yes. The RST returns late in the 2026 model year as a limited Stars & Steel special edition with Brembo six-piston front brakes and larger 15.7-inch rotors.

Is the 2026 Silverado EV a full redesign?

No. The 2026 Silverado EV remains part of the first generation introduced for 2024. This is a trim and equipment expansion led by the new Trail Boss, not a full redesign.
