2025 Lexus LX

The 2025 Lexus LX’s biggest change is the first-ever LX 700h, a 457-hp hybrid built around a twin-turbo V6. This is a meaningful lineup expansion rather than a full redesign.

About the 2025 Lexus LX

4th generation (all-new for 2022), fourth model year; first year for the LX 700h hybrid and Overtrail trim, before a major exterior refresh.

Lexus positions the LX as its flagship SUV: a full-size luxury vehicle with genuine body-on-frame toughness and real off-road hardware, not just a road-focused family crossover with upscale trim. Its core appeal is the mix of Land Cruiser-based durability, standard 4WD capability, quiet long-distance comfort, and high-end cabin materials and tech. In this class, the LX stands out most for buyers who want true trail capability and towing strength wrapped in Lexus craftsmanship and everyday ease of use.

The 2025 LX covers several roles: Premium is the core seven-seat luxury 4WD, F SPORT Handling is the more road-focused version, and Luxury emphasizes massage seats and premium audio. At the edges, the hybrid-only Overtrail brings front and rear locking differentials plus a skid plate, while the four-seat LX 700h Ultra Luxury focuses on rear-passenger comfort with an ottoman and massaging rear seats.

What changed, by category

Powertrain
The first LX 700h pairs a 457-hp twin-turbo 3.4-liter V6 hybrid with a 10-speed automatic and full-time 4WD. It enters the lineup in F SPORT Handling, Luxury, Overtrail, and Ultra Luxury forms. The 409-hp LX 600 gas powertrain carries over. The former LX 600 name continues as LX 600 F SPORT Handling, LX 600 F SPORT Utility is dropped, and the gas Ultra Luxury is replaced by the hybrid LX 700h Ultra Luxury.
Styling
The new Overtrail has a Matte Gray grille, black overfenders, and darker exterior trim. Roof rails are no longer standard across the lineup. The LX’s core exterior design is otherwise unchanged.
Safety
Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 becomes standard on every trim, replacing the previous 2.5 version.
Tech
A head-up display becomes standard across the lineup. Ultra Luxury also gains a standard front wireless charger.
Structural
Active Height Control and adaptive suspension become standard across the lineup. Revised cab mount cushions and suspension tuning aim to improve ride comfort and body control, while hybrid models use revised underbody packaging to accommodate the battery. A full-size spare tire also becomes standard.
