About the 2025 Hyundai Elantra

7th generation Elantra (2021-present), refreshed for 2024; 2025 is the second year after that update.

Hyundai positions the Elantra as a sharp-looking compact sedan that blends strong fuel economy, lots of safety tech, and a feature-rich cabin at mainstream prices. Across gas, hybrid, and N Line versions, its core appeal is giving everyday drivers a more tech-forward feel than many rivals, while still serving as an easy commuter and family runabout. The hybrid leans into mileage, and the N Line adds more performance, but the model range as a whole is about value, safety, and modern design.

The 2025 lineup ranges from the straightforward SE and efficiency-focused Blue HEV to comfort-oriented Limited models. SEL Convenience bundles larger displays, heated seats and a sunroof, while the 201-horsepower N Line adds turbo power and a sportier driving feel. Limited HEV combines the hybrid system with upscale touches such as ventilated front seats, Bose audio and driver-seat memory.

How the 2026 Hyundai Elantra compares

The biggest change for the 2026 Hyundai Elantra is the new gas-powered SEL Sport Premium trim. Otherwise, this is a light-update year with no redesign or powertrain changes.

Frequently asked questions

What changed on the 2025 Hyundai Elantra compared with the 2024 model?

The main change is a reshuffled trim lineup. SEL is renamed SEL Convenience, and Hyundai adds SEL Sport and hybrid SEL Sport HEV trims. There is no redesign, new engine or broad safety-system update.

Does the 2025 Hyundai Elantra lineup include hybrid models?

Yes. The 2025 Elantra hybrid range consists of Blue HEV, the new SEL Sport HEV and Limited HEV. All three use a 1.6-liter hybrid powertrain, with Blue HEV focused on fuel economy and Limited HEV focused on comfort and convenience.

What is new about the 2025 Elantra SEL Sport HEV?

The SEL Sport HEV is a new hybrid trim for 2025. It sits between Blue HEV and Limited HEV and adds dual 10.25-inch displays, 17-inch wheels, wireless charging, black exterior accents and sport-themed cabin details.

Was the 2025 Hyundai Elantra redesigned?

No. The 2025 Elantra remains part of the seventh generation and carries over the exterior update introduced for 2024. Its gas, hybrid and N Line powertrains also continue without a major overhaul.

Is the 2025 Hyundai Elantra meaningfully different from the 2024 model?

Not mechanically. The 2025 model makes the most sense over a 2024 for shoppers who specifically want the new SEL Sport or SEL Sport HEV, or the equipment grouped under SEL Convenience. Otherwise, the engines and refreshed exterior design are carryovers.

“Ride is smooth, alert system is a lot. Turned off most but some are unable to turn off. Sits low to the ground. Wish it locked when walking away like some vehicles but you have to hit the button on the door. I do like the blue link that allows to lock or remote start. A little noisier than a Prius but does get decent gas mileage.”
