2025 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

The biggest change for the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 is the new Trail Boss off-road package for LT and LTZ. Otherwise, this is a light update to the refreshed 2024 truck, with no redesign or powertrain overhaul.

About the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 3500

4th Silverado HD generation (2020-present), second year after the major 2024 refresh.

Chevrolet positions the Silverado 3500 HD as a heavy-duty truck for serious towing, hauling, and jobsite use, but with enough range in the lineup to span basic work duty through luxury-truck comfort. The model’s core appeal is straightforward: very high tow ratings, a choice of gas or diesel V8 power, strong trailering tech, and broad body/configuration coverage. Against rivals, Chevrolet emphasizes big capability, familiar truck controls, and a lineup that can serve fleets, owner-operators, and upscale personal-use buyers alike.

The 2025 lineup stretches from the straightforward Work Truck to the more polished High Country. LT brings a 13.4-inch touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while LTZ adds leather-trimmed front seats and useful towing tools. High Country tops the range with premium leather, surround-view cameras, a power tailgate, and more driver-assistance features.

How the 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 compares

The 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 is a light carryover, not a redesign. The main confirmed change is that satellite radio becomes standard on LTZ and High Country.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 redesigned?

No. The 2025 Silverado 3500 carries over the design introduced by the major 2024 refresh and receives only smaller package and equipment updates.

Which 2025 Silverado 3500 trims add the Trail Boss package?

The LT and LTZ trims add the Trail Boss off-road package for 2025. It is the year’s main lineup change rather than a redesign of the truck.

Is adaptive cruise control standard on the 2025 Silverado 3500?

Adaptive cruise control is standard on the 2025 Silverado 3500 High Country. This is a High Country equipment change, not a lineup-wide safety upgrade.

Did the 2025 Silverado 3500 get a new engine or transmission?

No. The 2025 Silverado 3500 continues with the 6.6-liter gas V8 and Duramax diesel engine, paired with a 10-speed Allison automatic transmission.

Is the 2025 Silverado 3500 much different from the 2024 model?

No. The two years are very similar unless the Trail Boss package on LT or LTZ, standard adaptive cruise on High Country, or expanded park-assist access on Work Truck and LT matters to you.

“Great truck overall. Towing is exceptional, gas mileage is horrible. When towing, you can watch the needle move.”

“some buttons are better as a dial. the dash light dimmer. the fan control. the temperature control. find it in the dark should not be a +/- button. removal of the rear door exterior handle unlock button was stupid. pay more, get less.”
