About the 2024 Porsche Cayenne

3rd generation Cayenne (E3), refreshed E3.2 model year / mid-cycle update.

Porsche positions the Cayenne as the sports car of the midsize luxury SUV world: something that blends sharp steering and strong performance with real family, cargo, and long-trip usefulness. It is meant to feel more engaging than most rivals without giving up comfort or daily usability. The range also gives buyers several flavors of that same idea, from a strong turbo V6 to plug-in hybrids and track-leaning performance models, while keeping the same upscale cabin and Porsche-first driver focus.

For 2024, Porsche positions the base Cayenne as an everyday luxury SUV with a driver-focused feel, while the Cayenne S becomes the regular gas model for drivers who want the stronger character of a 468-hp V8. The plug-in hybrid range spans the 463-hp E-Hybrid, 512-hp S E-Hybrid, and 729-hp Turbo E-Hybrid. The Coupe-only Turbo GT remains the specialized road-performance model, with 650 hp, rear-wheel steering, ceramic brakes, and a carbon-fiber roof.

What changed, by category

Powertrain
Output rises to 348 hp in the base V6, 463 hp in the E-Hybrid, 468 hp in the S, and 650 hp in the Turbo GT. The S replaces its V6 with a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8. The E-Hybrid gets a larger 25.9-kWh battery and faster 11-kW AC charging. Later in the model year, the 729-hp Turbo E-Hybrid joins the range, and the Turbo S E-Hybrid name changes to S E-Hybrid. The prior Turbo, GTS, and Platinum Edition variants leave the lineup.
Styling
The Cayenne receives refreshed exterior styling across the range. The Turbo E-Hybrid also has a model-specific front end with larger air intakes and brushed-aluminum quad exhaust outlets.
Safety
Matrix Design LED headlights, lane-change assistance with blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keep and lane-departure assistance become standard across the lineup.
Tech
A redesigned dashboard brings a standard 12.6-inch curved digital instrument cluster and 12.3-inch center touchscreen. Keyless entry and start and a cooled wireless charging tray also become standard. Heated front seats become standard on the base, E-Hybrid, and S, while premium audio becomes standard on the Turbo GT.
Suspension
Porsche revises the suspension tuning and makes PASM adaptive suspension standard on mainstream Cayenne models. The S E-Hybrid and Turbo E-Hybrid use adaptive air suspension with updated two-chamber, two-valve technology.
