2024 BMW 7 Series

About the 2024 BMW 7 Series

7th generation (G70), second model year.

BMW positions the 7 Series as its full-size luxury sedan for buyers who want both rear-seat comfort and a driver-focused feel. The pitch is not old-school soft luxury alone; BMW leans into large-screen technology, advanced cabin controls, strong powertrain choice, and long-distance comfort. Compared with rivals, the 7 Series aims to feel more modern and more engaging to drive while still delivering the quiet, spacious executive-sedan experience expected in this class.

The 2024 lineup spans the rear-wheel-drive 740i, the new all-wheel-drive 740i xDrive, the plug-in-hybrid 750e xDrive, and the V8-powered 760i xDrive. Every version has a curved display that combines a 12.3-inch instrument screen with a 14.9-inch touchscreen, while the 750e offers more than 35 miles of estimated electric-only range and the 760i delivers 536 horsepower.

“The new 7 series is a more comfortable and better handling vehicle than the previous generations of 7. Though the sheer amount of tech takes some getting used to and effort from the owner. My biggest complaint is now you cannot turn off the engine auto start/stop. I hate it”

“Luxury inside and out. Looks good and drives wonderfully. Hi tech but easy to learn controls. Elevate your image with this well made vehicle.”

“There is not sufficient lighting to tell when the car is in reverse. The only light indicating reverse is a very small bar under the license on the bumper. There should be better indicators of reverse mode for people to know you are backing up. Serious design flaw in my opinion.”
